Old San Juan is a restaurant with spa services in a quaint old house along Javier street in Poblacion, San Juan, Batangas.  I was there for a dinner with the family.  The aura of the place embodies the unsophisticated era, preserving the original looks of how the interior of old houses are in this town.  Meals are traditional Filipino and very "lutong bahay".  For a taste so good, the price is relatively inexpensive. You'll be amazed how much your Php 1,000 can fill tummies of a group of 5 to 8 adults and kids.

Kinilaw na tanigue is a little spicy but still a favorite of the male member of my group.  Pork sisig, bulalo and pansit canton are all yum.  So as their chicken teriyaki, which is kiddo's favorite.  But serving size of the latter is a little bit on the small portion comparing it to other entrees on their menu. I hope they do some adjustments on it.

Desserts list are either ignored or there's not much of choices there.  My apology for that, I didn't notice.  Anyhow, you can have panutcha or the caramelized peanut in the town's market.  And it comes in various sizes - from the size of a small plate or platito to a large bilao. Lol!

So if you are in town, grab your fork and enjoy the food.  And go barefoot in their wellness corner to complete your relaxation mode.

Chill in a rustic kind of way.  Try it!
