Traffic in this city is terrible. And by that statement alone, I know that most of you can relate and remark excessively on how hell it is.

So, one Friday evening, when one of the traffic is worst, my husband and I had to stop on SM Aura. It is one of the malls on our way home. Before we left Makati, we already had some fish and chips fix  coz we know that it's one long trip going home. But it seemed like another breaktime in driving was in order. That is to let the honking mellow down a bit more and to refuel ourselves again (like AGAIN?) before we join the snail pace car race again. That bad!

My cravings for some sweets got us into Carolyn Robb's The Royal Touch. It is one of the firsts new food concepts in town that can only be found at SM Aura. Incidentally, it's also the first sweets shop on our sight as we ascend from the basement parking space.

If you haven't heard of Carolyn Robb, she has been a personal Chef to the Royal family of UK from 1989-2001 - that's for TRH Prince Charles, Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Soft velvet chairs, baby blue padded walls with gold linings, mirrors and chandeliers make up the royal ambiance of this tea salon. And we were cozily seated on the long couch by the corner to have some tea and cupcakes, in royal style. *wink

I tried Carrot Prince muffin (Php 80.00) and for my date, Earl of Salted Caramel cupcake (Php 95.00). We also tried their VIP meal, Creamy Carbonara (Php220.00).  Their carrot muffin and caramel cupcake are really fit for a King and Queen. I love their muffin more. The carbonara is also good.

But the best of our order is actually the tea. I'm not a brewed coffee girl, it makes my head feeling heavy and sleepy. On a tiring night like that time, a brewed tea was the best idea I had next to a no go on a 5-km stretch of heavy traffic. We had the Valentine blackberry tea (Php 100.00 per teapot). Very soothing, so relaxing to sip. It quite calmed us both, instantly.

I think it's more than calming us. Happy na happy is my date! Haha! That's what I call, teacupful of true love. Queso!

Now, I think I'm a tea girl after this experience. *wink *wink
